Avatar the Last Airbender is an Emmy award winning American television show that has been a part of Nickelodeon’s childrens programming. You’ll also find Avatar the Last Airbender on Nicktoons Network. It is produced and was created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. This television series is about Aang and his friends who are focusing on saving the world from the Fire Lord and the Fire Nation.

Each generation has 1 person capable of pending the four elements. This person is the Avatar – and the Avatar is frequently reincarnated with each generation after the old Avatar dies. The four elements they must master are Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Aang is the current Avatar who is capable of bending all four elements. The Avatar can also use the “Avatar State,” which gives the Avatar all the information of previous Avatars and is usually a defensive mechanism that can be triggered when the Avatar feels very threatened.

Avatar the Last Airbender started on February 21, 2005 and had a special two-hour television movie on July 19, 2008.  It has over 5.6 million viewers and is one of the highest ranking show swith Nickelodeon, reaching far beyond it’s standard 6-11 year old audience. It currently has 3 seasons and one movie.
