Avatar the Movie and Avatar: The Last Airbender Movie

The movie Avatar the Last Airbender will be released on July 2, 2010. Released by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, it will be the first of a trilogy. The film is of course starred by Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz, Dev Patel, and Jackson Rathbone.

This is not Avatar the CGI movie which premiered December 16, 2009, directed by James Cameron. Avatar the Last Airbender is not the movie Avatar – these are two separate movies. So keep your eye out for the movie, Avatar the Last Airbender. It will follow the TV show with the same name, creating a trilogy like the TV show. They are trilogies because of the novels in which the series is based off, which were a trilogy, so each movie/season will be one of the novels.

The premise of Avatar the Last Airbender: the world is a place where people known as “benders” can manipulate the four elements – earth, air, water, and fire. Then the Fire Nation decides to wage a ruthless war against the other great nations in order to control them. Aang is the last hope for his people to stop the war caused by the Firebenders. Aang is also the only known survivor of his people – the peaceful Airbenders – so he is the Avatar, meaning descendent.

It is up to Aang, because he is the physical re-incarnation of the world. This means he has the power to manipulate all four elements and is able to draw upon several other powers, like the knowledge and experience from his other incarnations. His job is to protect the balance and peace between all four worlds with the spirit world. His friend includes protective Waterbender whose name is Katara as well as her older bull-headed brother, Sokka. In this movie, he must retore order to the war-torn world.

But in Aang’s way is the Fire Nation’s Admiral, Zhao, and their Prince, Zuko. The prince is banished from the Fire Nation, but if he brings back Aang, he will regain his honor..
